Well here is my entry for the Cross-Genre Contest at Seventh Sanctum.com [link]
The Cross-Genre generator gave me "Plague Drifter."
Using the general character generator I got this;
"This gentleman makes you think of a loyal dog. He has beady lavender eyes. He is bald, but used to have thick, wavy, brown hair. He is very tall and has an over-muscled build. His skin is tanned. He has nearly-non existent eyebrows and a small mouth. His wardrobe is mysterious, and is completely black."
Then the concept hit me, and a new breed of law was born.
The Plague Drifters are a group of law-men that roam the Dead West helping those that are unable to defend themselves from the hordes of undead that roam the prairies.
Working alone for the most part they are armed with several weapons for the job. They are considered the final word on legal matters, Judge, Jury, and of course Disinfector.
The act of slaying the undead is know as disinfecting, unless the person was living then it is refered to as Execution. All Drifters carry a badge hidden on their person and a journal for recording the events of each case they take on. The journals will not allow the writer to lie so any misdeeds are recorded as well, and failure to record is met with stern punishments, as well as the fact that the journal will make entries if none is made by the owner.
The weapons of the Plauge Drifters.
High-power Infector Pistols: These custom pistols are made in a secret process only know the Drifters themselves, the ammo they fire is a special toxin that destroys dead flesh and bone rendering the target to ash in an instant.
Long-range Poisoner Rifle: The main arsenal of the Drifter, a rifle able to snipe off a zombie or other roaming undead from 100 yards away accurately, and up to 200 yards with some margin for error. The rounds from this weapon are similar to the Infector rounds but also work on living flesh and inanimate objects, just in case the undead are being helped by one of the several Death Cults or when the target is hiding behind a wall.
